We feel so lucky to have found Rebecca and her spectacular venue, Barnstar, for our wedding. We were looking for a venue outside of Seattle that was still close to a big enough town to support our traveling guests. Our goal was to cultivate an intimate, easeful experience that had an elevated touch of sophistication. Located on a stunning piece of property outside of Bellingham, Barnstar checked all the boxes and then some! There is so much to love, I'm not even sure where to start. Not only is the venue itself gorgeous: sprawling gardens, a huge barn big enough to hold all your guests in a variety of arrangements, a three-sided covered chapel, and a gorgeously patinaed bridal sweet but they're filled with the sweetest details and thoughtful touches. Rebecca has curated an amazing collection of vintage furniture, vases, mirrors, glassware, and more. Then it's all perfectly accented by simple, romantic lighting. But the space's beauty isn't where the magic stops. It all comes down to Rebecca herself. We opted to have her be our planner and day-of coordinator, and it was the best choice we made. We were relatively hands-off in the sense that we gave her the reins. We shared the important aspects of our vision but trusted her to run with it and work her magic. Rebecca asked thoughtful questions, listened to what our goals were, offered suggestions, and helped craft an event we were so proud of. When we had an idea that didn't quite fit with the property/weather/flow of the day, she let us know. All of her vendor recommendations came through big time, making our planning process a breeze. I chose to start the communication with them and confirm we were pleased with their rates, etc but once we were locked in, I connected them with Rebecca and didn't have to touch it again. We also chose to have her do the flowers (which she grows herself on the property!!!) and she nailed it! Dramatic arrangements in a variety of sizes were thoughtfully placed throughout the venue, adding to the day's overall feel of elegance and grace. We were so glad we bundled all these services with her team as it made our planning, communication, and decision process so much more streamlined. We had originally booked our wedding for September 2020 but had to postpone it by a year because of COVID. She was understanding and flexible, making that potentially stressful process easy. When the event (finally) drew near we were tracking inclement weather backup plans which were necessary to implement due to an incoming storm. Even with the storm, the day flowed effortlessly in our experience (and our guests') thanks to Rebecca's day of coordination and guidance, we were able to relax fully and enjoy our special day knowing all the vendors were being coached and steered in the right direction. She knows the venue space the best and knows how to make the day flow seamlessly. Our guests loved the grounds and venue space, there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out at their own comfort level yet the event was intimate and romantic. We received so many compliments on how professionally run the entire day was from when guests arrived to when they loaded up to head home. Beyond the professionalism, guidance, amazing all-around venue space, Rebecca is a wonderful human that we were so happy to have in our corner and guide us through a magical day. - Sondra Fireling
